Varlık Dergisi’nin 1933-1981 Yıllarına Dair Dış Kapak Biyografisi

Abstract

Varlık magazine, which has been published since 1933, has a considerable place in our culture and art life. Thanks to Varlık, many important writers and poets made their name known for the first time and took their place in our history of literature. Turkey's last 87 years of history, which has witnessed the only magazine quality, not quantity of articles contained and artists care given place, is remarkable in the way of visual and maintenance. The social and cultural history of Turkey on the cover images and pictures shed light on. These pictures and images are sometimes related to current events and situations, and sometimes they are works of art of our esteemed painters. While Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is the most important person with the most pictures on the cover, the pictures of our poets and writers on the days of commemoration are another prominent visuals. In our study, we have examined the cover pages of Varlık in this regard. The founder of the magazine, Yaşar Nabi Nayır, examined all the issues that were published while alive (1933-1981) and published a document of the cover designs and the images used in the cover, showed the important ones in our article.
