Abstract

XVII. The main theme of the poems of Elmalılı Ümmî Sinan, one of the most important sufi poets of the 20th century, is love. Ümmi Sinan is a person who devoted his life to finding love. Therefore, the theme of love in Ümmî Sinan's Divan carries traces of his life. He was not interested in material love like other sufi poets. The love he talks about in his poems is the love of God. There are various levels of attaining this love for him. One of these levels is St. Prophet's love. In this study, Mr. The love of the Prophet is explained with reference to some of the poems in the Divan of Ümmî Sinan. For Ümmi Sinan of Elmalı, Hz. A person who loves the Prophet and does not follow his example cannot win Allah's approval. Happiness in both worlds is not possible for a person who cannot gain His approval. In the Divan of Ummi Sinan, together with the love of Allah, Hz. This idea is the basis of the expression of the love of the Prophet. This thought was not only expressed in his poems, but also became one of the focal points of his life.
