Rahim Hâce’nin Nazmu’l-Muhtasaru’t-Türkî Adlı Eseri Üzerine

Abstract

Rahim Khwaja bin Ali Khwaja Eshan is one of the most important names of Classical Chaghatay Literature. Based on the poet’s work named Nazm-ul-Mukhtasar-ul-Turki, it is possible to find both prose and verse works of the poet in world libraries. Rahim Khwaja translated a prose work called Mukhtasar-ul-wiqaya Fi Masayel-ul-Hedaya, which is related to Hanafi fiqah, from Arabic to Chagatay Turkish in verse. In addition to the verse text of the work, there are also Arabic and Persian prose texts. A copy of the work, whose name is not mentioned in the sources, was found in the province of Takhar, where the Uzbek Turks live, in the north of Afghanistan. In this study, first of all, the general situation of the copy of the above-mentioned work is emphasized. Afterwards, the copy was introduced. While working on the work, information about Hanafi fiqah books, which are used as textbooks in madrasas, were also obtained. In the study, information is given about which author and which concise work the text belongs to. In addition, the other memorandum was briefly mentioned. Due to the descriptive features of the copy, a few examples of couplets containing catechism information were given and evaluations were made on these examples.
